FRISCO, Texas (May 22, 2019) - DialCare is excited to announce the launch of its Mental Wellness Student Pilot Program offering mental and behavioral health assistance to middle school and high school students. This pilot will be an extension of the current low-cost, high-impact telehealth program. DialCare is honored to engage with these three independent school districts to participate in the pilot program of this new endeavor.

DialCare created this student-focused program in direct response to Governor Abbott's plan for increased school safety. With the launch of this program, DialCare's core objective is to provide a safe, secure and private way for middle school and high school students to seek help from a licensed and trained mental or behavioral health specialist via a virtual counseling session. Our licensed counselors work with such conditions as depression, stress, eating disorders, addiction, relationships, anxiety, grief and more.

Through the DialCare behavioral health program, students can schedule a phone or video chat appointment with a licensed mental health specialist between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. CT, seven days a week. These extended hours offer accommodation for students' busy schedules and after-school activities. Students can schedule their appointments conveniently and directly through the secure DialCare Mental Wellness app or by calling DialCare, and a DialCare representative will assist them with scheduling a session.

“I am looking forward to the Mental Wellness Pilot Program that DialCare will be implementing in Laredo,” said Representative Richard Peña Raymond. “This is an innovative program that I believe will help many, many students in Laredo – and then in many other parts of the state.”

With this innovative new program, students can choose the same counselor for their sessions or change counselors at any time, and there is no limit to the number of sessions students may schedule.

“We're very proud to announce the launch of DialCare's Mental Wellness Student Pilot Program. This program is meant to bring greater access and further help to students who have not sought counseling services due to access issues, cost constraints or the perceived stigma attached to seeking help from a counselor,” said Jeremy Hedrick, Senior Vice President of DialCare. “The technology, convenience and privacy of our program brings access to fully-trained and licensed professional counselors directly to a student via our app, website or call center. With the prevalence of mental health conditions among our youth, this solution is another needed resource to support the mental health and well-being of our students.”
